Prior to joining Edifice Health, Dave was a full-time faculty member in the Pathology, Immunology and Microbiology Department at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and a Health Research Scientist in the U.S. Department of Veteran’s Affairs. Most recently, Dave has served as the Chief Scientific Officer and molecular scientist for multiple molecular diagnostics laboratories focused on precision medicine, genomics, immunology and infectious disease. Over the last 25 years Dave has developed several novel molecular diagnostic assays for the prediction of inflammation and cardiovascular risk in patients with diabetes, infectious disease and cancer. Dave speaks often on the subject of precision medicine and was selected as a TEDx speaker in 2016.

Dave holds a M.S in Microbiology and Immunology and a Ph.D in Cellular and Molecular Pathology. Following his doctoral training, Dave completed his first postdoctoral fellow at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in the area of innate immune response to viral respiratory infections and a second fellowship Vanderbilt University Medical Center in the area of pediatric infectious disease. For the last dozen years, Dave has been on the entrepreneurial side of healthcare with efforts to improve the health and wellness of patients around the world.
