Systemic Inflammation Predicts All-Cause Mortality: A Glasgow Inflammation Outcome Study

Markers of the systemic inflammatory response, including C-reactive protein and albumin, as well as neutrophil, lymphocyte and platelet counts have been shown to be prognostic of survival in patients with cancer.
